Australia Day, Darling Harbour, Sydney, NSW

Tumbalong Park at Darling Harbour, will transform into a ‘Summer Playground’ to host Australia Day, with many children’s activities to enjoy during the day.
The Children’s Festival takes place between 11am and 3pm at Summer Playground at Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour.
Night-time music, entertainment and the major fireworks displays can be found a short walk across town in Circular Quay.
Celebrate Australia Day at Darling Harbour with a fantastic line up of free entertainment.
*Darling Harbour Fireworks are cancelled for January 2020 including Australia Day due to the ongoing impact of the bushfire crisis.
12pm – 8pm
Stake out a prime spot at the Harbourside Amphitheatre Stage, located next to the Ferris Wheel, to enjoy a fantastic line-up of multicultural live entertainment presented by SSI New Beginnings Festival. The vibrant and innovative arts and cultural program celebrates the creative work of artists and makers from refugee and migrant backgrounds. What better time to celebrate our nation’s unique multicultural makeup than Australia Day?

Cockle Bay Water Show
8pm and 9pm
Darling Harbour celebrates Australia Day this year with an exciting water show on Cockle Bay. See exhilarating water stunt performers ski and flip across Cockle Bay, in a fun display of sound and light, sound-tracked with the classic Aussie hits we all know and love.
THINGS TO DO
10am – 5pm
Explore an immense, radiantly lit, inflated labyrinth of winding paths and soaring domes in Darling Harbour’s Tumbalong Park.
11am – 5pm

Cruise around Cockle Bay on your very own pedal boat and take in the harbour breeze.
11am – 3pm
Who hasn’t dreamed of running away and joining the circus? Well, here’s your big chance! A fun and interactive program of circus workshops and games for the whole family will have kids and adults alike living out their circus dreams. Pedal your heart out on a unicycle, try your hand at juggling, learn how to spin plates, test your balance on sky-high stilts, and get your hula hoop twirling.
True Blue Bush Games
11am – 3pm
Village Green South
Take on true-blue bush challenges and get into the Australia Day spirit. A hilarious line-up of fun and games will let the whole family show off their uniquely Aussie skills. Munch your way to victory in a watermelon eating competition or take on the challenge of who can throw their thongs the farthest. Grab your family and friends and hurl, heave and hoist the rope to win the Tug-o-War Competition.

Village Green North
After competing in the True Blue Bush Games, get yourself a fun temporary tattoo of the Australian flag to commemorate the day.
