Dad & Dave Radio Play – Dad Buys a Car
August 18, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Reliving the magic of Radio from the 1930s, ‘40s and 50s, Forgetting of Wisdom brings you four hilarious episodes of the Dad and Dave characters created by Steele Rudd in his book On Our Selection.
Dad and Mum, their son Dave and his girlfriend Mabel became much-loved characters of Australian radio. Living amongst their neighbours in Snake Gully they epitomised the image that many Australians identified with; down-to-earth battlers who faced adversity with stoicism and humour.
The program will open with a taste of the classic Australian verse story The Songs of a Sentimental Bloke by C.J.Dennis.
The Forgetting of Wisdom on-stage collective includes Leo Wockner, Penny Everingham, Bob Newman and Jan Nary.
