National Cherry Festival, Young, NSW

December 6, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - December 8, 2019 @ 2:00 pm

Young celebrates the National Cherry Festival on the first weekend of December, traditionally at the height of the cherry picking season. This iconic regional produce event showcases the famous Cherry which has been part of the landscape around Young for over 150 years.

Young receives thousands of visitors from Australia and beyond during the festival, providing the opportunity to the community of Young – also known as the Cherry Capital of Australia – to celebrate not only the cherry season and harvest (November-December), but the strong sense of pride that exists within the town.

The three day celebration will include quirky and colourful festivities including the National Cherry Festival Street Parade, Christmas Street Market, cherry pie eating championships, cherry pip spitting competition, live music, drum and pipes bands, Young and Region Farmers Market, fringe events, and much more.
